  1. All through my life I always thought the proper thing to say when someone sneezed was "Cah-Blesh You!" I said it all through elementary and middle school. It wasn't until high school someone told me that what everyone was actually saying was "God Bless You!" This rocked my world.

  2. I always thought that public school was awful and scary, until one day, I was forced to go. I dreaded the coming of my sophomore year, but I ended up making friends that I will cherish for the rest of my life, meeting some amazing teachers, and enjoying a year of new experiences.

  3. As long as I can remember,I thought Santa Clause was real. Listen, I even went as far as to have my mom bake homemade cookies. It was incredible the routine I made my parents go through to prepare. Then... Well... I learned the truth: Santa Clause was a Saint! So I had them do double the work to get ready!

  4. I will always remember the day when I discovered that ice cream was bad for you. I never understood why something so good could be so bad for you until one day when my mother said, "If you don't stop eating ice cream, you are going to get fat." I don't eat is as much any more.

  5. Becoming a teacher. Worse idea ever, or so I thought. I always dreaded the idea of speaking in front of students who could care less...until I volunteered to teach summer camp. Pouring your own heart into another child's is priceless. Who would have known? Irony at its finest!

  6. I used to naively think that all ordeals within the church were easily managed and done with grace. Growing up as a pastor's daughter, I realized that quite the opposite tends to happen. Churches that I have been engulfed by have been full of lies and deception--not the Christ-like love that I have been taught to exhibit by my earthly and heavenly father.

  7. Life will be very easy, free of concerns, right? This “observation” has become less evident as I have grown older. In order to have a fulfilling life, one must endure hardships...and they are hard. All I had to do to figure this out was look at how much college costs!

  8. All throughout elementary and middle school, I begged my mom for a pet hamster. She always said no but about two or three summers ago, she gave in and got me two. I quickly realized that all the cleaning, responsobility, and sleep loss were not worth having them. I gave them away.

  9. My mom is extremely competitive. Board games, card games, family football games. She must win them all. It used to really bug me. I mean its only a game of Clue! However, since I have gotten more and more into sports, I've realized I have the same tendency. And I like it.
